Welcome to Shanthiham

Shanthiham from its origin was deeply involved in and focused on counselling of individuals, families and communities who had been traumatized due to the prolonged war, which resulted in the increase of traumatized persons in the North and East, Shanthiham increased its Counselling and psychosocial activities.

The need for an institution to deal with trauma victims saw the establishment of the Association for Health and Counselling (AHC) popularly known as Shanthiham in 1988. Since then Shanthiham has developed as an organization that provides both a Counselling Centre and Training Centre for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for the Northern and Eastern part of Sri Lanka.

A well-developed home garden contributes significantly to daily food needs. It can supply households with nearly all the non-staple foods they need, such as vegetables, legumes and root crops ornamental purposes or for sale.
